Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about my work.

To help you to understand the importance of this work in my life, I'd like to share with you how this mission began.

I grew up in a Protestant family and at the age of six, I began attending the neighborhood First United Methodist Church. When I became an adult, I was very involved in the church even teaching Sunday School to the youth at one time.

Throughout my life, I never had any exposure to the Catholic Church or it's teachings. Growing up in the south - the "bible belt" of this country - everybody I knew was Protestant and most of my friends and family were either Methodist or Baptist. The only things I knew about Catholicism were things I saw on television and in movies.

When I was in my thirties I married Richard Randall. While he was not a practicing Catholic, he had grown up in the faith and most of his family still attended mass regularly. I felt comfortable asking him and my in-laws questions about Catholic practices and they were good enough to help me gain some understanding.

I have always loved religious articles of all types and one day while I was surfing the web hanging out on eBay, I found a Rosary for sale. Fondly remembering a field trip I had taken to a monastery as a youth, I felt compelled to buy it.

While I waited for my Rosary to arrive, I did some research on the Internet and found a lot of information about the devotion and learned how to say the prayers. When I finally had the Rosary, I began praying with it every day. My love for the Rosary devotion grew.

I have always been a "crafter". Crochet, Ceramics, Cross-Stitch, Jewelry Making, and a host of other crafts have filled many hours of my spare time.

I have Fibromyalgia (a disease characterized by chronic pain), so I have learned to try to distract myself from thinking about the pain I have to deal with by doing various crafts. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

The more I looked at my new Rosary, the more the "crafter" in me started to come out. I thought that making a Rosary didn't look any harder than some of the other crafts I had pursued, so I found a web site that sold Rosary parts and ordered enough supplies to make a couple of Rosaries.

My endeavor went well and as I made the Rosaries I found that I didn't give as much thought to my aches and pains as I usually did. Making Rosaries turned out to be very therapeutic for me, so I made a LOT of them.

I bought some more supplies and made a few more Rosaries. After a few months I discovered that in my "therapy" I had filled a small box with Rosaries and I had no idea what I was going to do with them all.

I started studying Catholicism and the Rosary Devotion online and in the course of that study I found out that there is a great need for Rosaries and other devotional items among mission workers, and that they rely on people like me to supply their needs. My heart was touched.

I found Our Lady's Rosary Makers online and when I found out that they sell the parts to make mission Rosaries I joined their organization right away.

It occurred to me that I could continue to receive "Rosary Therapy" for my Fibromyalgia and I could make nice chained Rosaries to sell online, using the money I made to buy mission Rosary supplies. It seemed like a good idea so I invested a little money in the parts to make some more chained Rosaries and I built this web site.

For every $10.00 "profit" I make from the sale of my chained Rosaries, I can purchase enough supplies to make about 25 Corded Mission Rosaries and pay for the postage to mail them to wherever they are needed.

Over the past ten years I have made thousands of Rosaries and I am happy to report that they have found their way to missions here in the United States as well as to missions in South America, India, Malaysia, Ghana and other remote places on this earth.

I have supplied Rosaries to traditional Catholic missions, prayer groups, theological students, military chaplains, hospital clergy and individuals.

I am happiest when I have the opportunity to send a FREE Rosary to an individual who is just learning the joy of praying the Rosary devotion.

I work a full time job and am limited in spare time and extra money, but I do the best I can do. This is a small mission, but it is my way of trying to use my talents and abilities to serve Our Lord and to spread devotion to Our Lady.

Thankfully, God has sent me many helpers over the years. Almost every week I receive a package in the mail containing anywhere from one Rosary to a hundred of them - all of them made or collected by people who have visited my web site and who want to help me in this work. Without the help of these kind people, I wouldn't be able to do as much work as I do.

Please pray for me and my humble mission. I need all of the help I can get to spread this devotion wherever it is needed. If possible, purchase one of my Rosaries for yourself or for a friend.

Your Sister in Christ,

Gale
